Movie review - A Legend (2024)
Automated copy of my Letterboxd review for A Legend (2024)

Caveat: I watched a bad dub which messed with audio levels, changed character names, and was not well voice acted. That being said, good audio wouldn't have saved this. It's a split present-day/historical movie with the majority in the past, which is good because the present day plot is amazingly bad -- the past plot is just boring but at least mostly makes sense. In the past Jackie Chan is de-aged via mediocre CGI, and his acting was so flat it could've been anyone with his face. The other characters are all badly written stereotypes. Possibly there's some wider cultural appeal I'm missing, but for me this is just bad.
