Really enjoyed this, very well made and gave me at least some feeling of postwar Japanese personal and national trauma before running it up against the literal nuclear fallout of Godzilla. Some small things didn't land for me, and the colour mix seemed weird at times in the Netflix version (unsure if they were trying for a 1940s film effect?) - if I watch again I'll try the B&W version. Also started to really feel the runtime as it passed 1h30.

Rating: 4.0 out of 5.
